Actually, i am glad to see a lot of write-ups for plus size models/modeling. There has been a lot of focus in recent years on this unique industry and a break down of the “old” concept of rail thin models. I think it represents what women really look like

The days of old where models were size 0 I feel are slowly on their way out. The average size of a typical woman in the US is between 8 and 12, a far cry from the size 0 we are used to seeing portrayed in the media. In addition, size 0 women do not look healthy at all. I am so happy to see more plus size women in the mainstream media.

Models will always be unattainable ideals, no matter what their size due to genetics, makeup artists, hairstylists, lighting and photoshopping. End of story. Hopefully we can find more size 14+ models to strive to look like…

I received a good reply from the store, who assures me that it won’t happen again.

With the internet, it’s so easy to file your complaint directly, it just takes a minute to write a good letter, and a day or two for a response, so I believe it’s well worth it. I do word them carefully and politely as I recently worked in retail and had a nightmare when a customer complained wrongly.

More than a few times, especially at chains, I’ve been given coupons for free drinks or a meal. So always speak up. It’s the only way to get satisfaction and effect change.
